the latest. >>kate: a high-speed chase ripping through this residential neighborhood this morning, we could show you. here you could see tire tracks this is from the chp vehicle when it sped up on to the lawn. you could see this chp car taking up the street, completely chewing off the lawn. as the car continued to travel up the line you could see how it's completely missing the grass here and hitting the sidewalk and careening into their front porch. you could see all the rocks there, this and and and and completely exposing it. this is where a high-speed chase reaching speeds of more than 100 mi. an hour down highway 580 came to an end. the officer tried to pull over this silver dodge sedan at around 10:00 a.m.. >> the vehicle did not yield to the signals and sirens. the officer chased the vehicle and led them through

point, it is distant destination we are expecting more snow that will be coming in tonight and tomorrow. in addition, there will be snow throughout the week as well. once this next storm passes over, we should have a better idea of when we will have power in the pack park. >>pam: thank you so much for your time. in other news around the bay, an unusual start to the trial of two men accused of murdering in oakland journalist. today the prosecution in the case moved ahead with the trial even though the defense, has yet to give its opening statements. the murder trial endinvolving shansi bailey. they declined to give their statements after the prosecution wrapped up. prosecutors started calling their first witnesses, people who were reportedly at the scene of the 2007 murder in downtown oakland.

they is accused of ordering the murder because bailey was investigating his troubled bakery. mickey is charged with the getaway car. emancipated guilty to sexually assaulting his year-old stepdaughter at a san francisco school last year. pedro fernandez, i agreed to serve 12 years in prison in a plea deal with prosecutors. he was caught on surveillance cameras assaulting a child in the stairwell at sanchez elementary. prosecutors say, hernandez had been staying with the girl's family at the time of the assault. he will be formally sentenced in april. california state university is planning to reduce enrollment by more than 10,000 students. today a board of trustees outlines strategies to address the $500 million cut, proposed by governor brown. university officials are

>>catherine: in national news, south dakota has the longest waiting period for a woman wanting an abortion. the governor signed a new law requires that women wait three days after consulting with the doctor. they also have to undergo counseling and help centers which discourage abortion. abortion-rights groups announced a plan to file a lawsuit challenging than the measure. the former football star if lawrence taylor was sentenced to six years' probation today. the ex linebacker pleaded guilty in january to sexual misconduct and having sex with an underage prostitutes. that girl now 17, denies she is a prostitute. she said taylor should gone to jail. auriana
